El Nido Supported by Victory Outreach Event

Maria Garcia Lopez • June 7, 2024

The local congregation supported the women and families of El Nido at it's annual Code Red Event.

El Nido families participated in the Code Red event on June 7, this is an annual event hosted by Victory Outreach Evangelical Church in San Ysidro.  In attendance were 10 past and current El Nido families, with a total of 25 children.

The members of the church who helped with this event, provided a safe space for the families to receive dinner, haircuts, clothing, and hygiene items, and a kids zone where children received toys and did art and crafts.

The women of the El Nido program could hear stories of courage and strength from some church members. The purpose of this event was to bring hope and joy to the families of the El Nido program.

Betty one of the graduate clients who attended this event stated “that she continues on her path to safety and happiness and this event brought some hope that she needed due to her recent situation that has brought on some challenges.” Betty continues to stay in contact with the El Nido program staff and continues to receives support and referrals to services as needed.

After the families graduate and complete the El Nido program, aftercare support continues as required and all graduate families are still invited to attend El Nido events.
