ISN Housing & Prevention Program

(TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED Pending New Funding) ISN’s Housing & Prevention Program provides case-managed, limited financial assistance to low-income households to help those who are homeless to achieve permanent housing and allows those at-risk of losing their housing to keep it. Helps individuals and families who would be homeless but for this assistance.

ISN’s skilled Housing Program staff partners with clients to assess their housing needs and provide the information and resources necessary for them to successfully meet challenges and strengthen their long-term housing stability. Staff provides support and advocacy for clients with management companies and landlords. Clients continue to receive staff support for 6 months after resolution of challenges to assist with any additional problems that may arise.

"I’m beyond words for all the hard work you people did to help me and support me. That’s what has given me the strength to keep pushing and fighting to get me to where I am today. I couldn’t have done this without your help."

Ramon Torres came into the ISN emergency shelter program in April 2021. Once he was safely sheltered, he worked quickly to clear up his past credit and find a job. It wasn’t long before he found permanent housing, which had to be taken quickly or lost to one of the long line of applicants. With the help of the Housing Program, he was able to move in a week later. Now, he continues to move towards his long-term goals.

“I’m going to the gym, I have a bank account. Hard work does pay off!” He quotes one of his religious mentors who says, “Don’t despise a humble beginning. It’ll get greater later.”
